The Very Best of A FORCE OF NATURE!

Hello, all you lovely peeps!
So. Tomorrow is kind of a huge day and it’s going to be hectic but that is the day that this five day hiatus begins. #FP is going to run normally, please don’t worry about that (I’m way too much of an addict to let it go) so send ‘em #FP’s thick and fast on Friday, cos’ I’ll be there for them!
I will not however, be replying to any emails regarding #ForTheLoveofLove until the 7th, when I come back.
Don’t worry, nothing bad is happening, we’re just going to go and change our lives a little.
Change can be good!
True to my word, the fundraiser has been deleted, and I want to thank you all a thousand times and a thousand times again for all you have done for us. Sometimes I have words, and sometimes I don’t that fully describe how grateful I am for the help you have given, for all the kindness we’ve been shown.
I will never forget it.
I promise you that.
The deadline for #ForTheLoveofLove has been extended until the 7th, when this hiatus is over and everything will resume again after that. This time away serves a bigger purpose in our lives, so it’s a necessary break.
There’s still time to send your words, guys. Still time to change my family’s lives, such as we have come to know it …
Anyway, this foreword cannot be too extensive as I am running out of time that I need to spend at home, with my family and get things ready for a new world ahead, so, as I like saying so much, onto the #FP’s!
The theme last week was A Force of Nature, which I admit, was inspired by you guys, a force of nature with your beautiful words and everything you do that blows me away … I mean, you’d think there’d be a pattern of familiarity by now, but every week, it’s like sitting down and down #FP again for the very first time.
The gift that keeps on giving!
And now, enough of my ramblings!
Please enjoy The Very Best of A Force Of Nature!

From Us To You …

So, here we are … again.
Very soon my online hiatus of five or so days begins and as things are taking shape, so is a lot of panic and terror on my part because, hey, it’s what I do!
Do not worry. It is nothing medical, although tomorrow is another check up day to see if the nameless condition of my mother has been brought down somewhat.
Needless to say, I am chewing on every nail I have and trying not to think of it.
It’s not really working …
But the time has come for some things to end and some to begin.
Over the last few weeks, life has become a routine of fear, panic, sleepless nights, perpetual emotional and physical exhaustion.
Life online has suffered, the system we have for #FridayPhrases and #200WT … and it takes a lot for someone like me to forgive themselves for the error of their ways. I admit, I have not yet forgiven myself, but we’re getting there, one nap at a time, I think.
In any case, the end of February’s line has come and we still stand.
And we think that we have tried. We have each had a war to wage with circumstances being what they are and we are … okay.
A lot poorer than we were the beginning of the year, with no way of ending that. A lot more tired, appreciative of the little opportunities we’ve been given to keep our family together.
A lot more aware of life and how easy it is to see that one, inescapable end staring you in the face. We were given a chance to turn our back, but one day we’ll get there again, and these hours, these mere hours of a lifetime that we get to spend with people who make our lives worthwhile … there is no sum on earth great enough to buy that.
With proper medical care, and this is without the self-righteous ass we had as a “family doctor,” you helped me buy my family a chance. I mean, we thought we were going to lose our mother. That fear does not leave you and it never will, and I know that.
But this chance, it will not be wasted. So much of our lives have been wasted on struggle, on the long battle for plain survival in a world where it seems we have never been wanted. One day, you’ll know all our stories and you’ll see why this is.
And you will know that it ends here.
Your help, in what you have given us in the fundraiser, with your #ForTheLoveofLove submissions, it’s given us a lot more than you know. A lot more hope than you can imagine. And we don’t know what we have that is worth the gifts you have given us, all of you.
And so, this is goodbye to the fundraiser, which I am going to close tomorrow.
To all who contributed, you have … lifted us out of hell. Through useless cortisone treatments, to nights in the hospital, what you have given us may literally have been the difference between life and death, because in my country, if you do not have money, you do not have a life worth saving.
And you saved my mother.
I know I have asked much. I know that the fundraiser has overstayed its welcome. I’ve been trying to find a way to pay for our lives here at home and it has been somewhat impossible, because I am unemployable and I will not find paid work anywhere I look, but I will keep trying.
I’m good at this game, Survival Mode.
So don’t you worry.
We will be rich in so many more ways than just the cold hard cash.
Soon, we will be living the life that we’ve been dreaming of for so long.
And now, as the horror of the last few weeks begin to fade, the beginning steps of that begin to appear!
Now, for the ways that is going to happen, I won’t give too much away now, just that change can be good and this is. I will explain after this hiatus is over, because now, I’m beginning to run out of time and the panic returns!
Things may be wonky for the next few days for both #FP and #200WT. and for that I am so, so sorry, but you’ll see why the wonkiness was necessary soon.
Regarding #ForTheLoveofLove, yes, it is happening and no, I am not giving up on any of the other anthologies we have planned. We were in the brink of finishing things for Framing Fridays, and then my mom fell ill.
Things went insane.
It happens.
But we’re done with languishing and lamenting, so we’ll get it done, and we’ll do that before the apocalypse descends.
The #ForTheLoveofLove deadline has been extended to the 7th of March, when I come back from this hiatus thingy, and please, please, this anthology still can’t happen without you guys! Please! Tell your friends and invite them to share a word or two!
This anthology needs submissions. My family still needs a little bit of help. I swear to all I hold dear, I have a lifetime and I will use it to repay the favors I have been given by all of you, I don’t care what it takes …
Just keep sharing. Keep writing.
Keep believing that all I have, I owe to my family and to you. And it is a debt that deserves the service of a lifetime, therefore I will not ever stop.
Thank you to everyone who has helped us find this little bit of inner peace.
We will do good things with it.
Now from Lara, Adele, Vic and Perri, we love you all and thank you for everything. Thank you for giving us a chance no one else in this world would have.
Thank you.
Lots of love,
The GRAY Girls

The Very Best of WHAT DO YOU HEAR?

Another week where I go what a week!
I don’t even know what’s happening. Behind the scenes, us GRAY’s are kinda living in a lovely swirl of utter chaos, racing to digest what need be digested (mentally of course) and … it feels like we’re getting there but my mind is exhausted, so it may also just be a dream.
I shall nothing now except that life is weird.
Ridiculously, freakishly weird and my mere mortal state of being, I am just no match to keep up with it anymore.
I realize that in the recent weeks life with our online world has somewhat failed to run as it used to do, and that has, in turn, inspired quite a few changes with the coming weeks.
All good, all good, but just … fast, you know, as if the weightiest decisions to be made in life were now made in a matter of days and I don’t know what to think. Perhaps this is what personal evolution feels like.
Freakin’ weird.
Anyway, with the amount of things about to change in the way we run 200 Word Tuesdays and #FP on the blogs, it is leaving very little time to get things up and running and still keep our family going, emotionally, financially, and all that.
So while you should expect more details on these changes in the very near future, be at ease.
It feels good, this kind of change. And it happens in many ways, not just online.
That said, with all that is ahead, we are still pretty damn penniless and after several lost opportunities and mishaps, I have stepped back from the job I did for my mom while she cannot, and so … our financial life grinds to a complete, staggering halt and it’s not hard to see what effect this is having on my family …
I know I have asked this so many times.
I know that I have no right to ask this again. I put it off for days and days, because of that sweet, burning guilt that invades my mind after I have, and I shouldn’t have … but here are the last days of the month.
And the last days that I will have to ask for your help with the fundraiser.
The last days that I will have to make calls for your #ForTheLoveofLove submissions.
I will be virtually out of range for five days, from the 2nd to the 7th, and in that time, I will only have enough mobile data to do #FP on the day of the 3rd. Now don’t worry, my distance is bringing a good change in our lives and hopefully the lives of many others in future days, but the torch will fade for only a while, and I need to make up for lost time.
So on my very last appeal, and I swear this is it, on the 28th, it’s all over …
Please spread this message, please tell people you know who have a story like this to tell … please tell them about #ForTheLoveofLove. Please invite them to write, because every word that we get saves my family’s future together.
Two weeks ago, I was afraid to fall asleep because I thought we’d lose my mom in the night, and I would not know.
Two weeks later, a fragile hope has replaced some of the despair, but dispelled none of the worry, the need to find a way out of this for us all. For my mother in particular …
So, wherever you can help us, with whatever you can share, words, pennies, kitten pics, it is deeply appreciated. It fills our little world with enough hope that we just may walk out of this in one piece. All of us together.
And we need that more than I could ever tell you.
So in the next few days, don’t forget about us. Don’t forget about #ForTheLoveofLove.
Don’t forget that no matter what, every hour that we sit here, we are working on ways that we can spend a lifetime doing what we love, and that is all that we have here with you guys, and so much more.
So now that I have rambled enough, and I’m looking at all the #kittenheist pics and gifs I’ve been sent to calm me down, onto the #FP’s!
Last week was a special week for #FP. Last week we all came together and sent a very great many of the most beautiful and amazing #FP’s read aloud to @AdeleSGray, who missed Friday Phrases more than anything and could not read them.
So came the #FPAudioChallenge, with the theme What Do You Hear, inspired by the amazing @ReeDwithaBee.
I have, time and again, amazed by the outpouring of love and support from our community, but not even I am sure who sobbed the most that day, me or my mom.
I want to thank everyone who sent their words and voices our way. You guys are the reason we’re still going strong, and I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for that …
And so, while the audio #FP’s could not be embedded cos I don’t know how, here for you is the Very Best Of What Do You Hear!

I hear your heartbeat
echoing echoing
overlapping mine.
I hear your heartbeat.
Stephen 🐺 ‏@GallifreyGamgee
The winter winds howled through the trees, and a sinister sound was heard by my huskies and myself. Being part-wolf has its advantages. #FP
Casey Donart ‏@casey_donart
“You didn’t hear that?”
“Hear what?”
“The voices. They were so loud”
“Izzy, there weren’t any voices” #FP

“I just ran. I’m not proud of it.”

Tap. I stare at the screen. Tap. The letter ceases to be. Tap. Pause. Tap. Nah, that’s not it either. Tap – the pulse of writer’s block #FP

“Access granted,” the speaker said. Al heard a soft buzzing sound and the click of the door. He opened it and went into the safe house. #fp

I hear you in the rustle of the leaves, the trickling of the stream & cheerful song of woodland birds. I hear you my love… I hear you #FP

J. Wayne Williams ‏@jwwfantasywrite
Silence never visits me anymore. For when night falls, and all is quiet, and the lights go out, I’m assaulted by the voices in my head. #FP

Lord Stabdagger! ‏@Lord_Stabdagger
#FP A gentle breeze, rain on the window, an owl hoots, a dog barks as a car goes by and the couple next door having sex. Silent night? No.

Does the wind, itself, have sound?
We hear what it moves with it’s spirit.
We hear what it prompts the choir of nature to sing. #FP

the subtle nuances
of night
all the quiet
the lost
and the unseen
softly breathing
a lullaby
of dreams.

or maybe the growl
of a disgruntled dog
lying in rustled leaves.
A distant hum
of the last dance
